Yts summer program

Recently, I had gone to a Young Technology Scholars program in Plaksha University,Chandigarh. It was a wonderful experience where I got to learn things beyond the classroom. The program was not only intellectually stimulating but also a lot of fun.As the classes progressed, I felt a new level of energy and inspiration from my fellow students. My passion for learning grew and my confidence in my abilities to create something useful also increased. We all made friends and memories that we will cherish forever. We were all away from home, family and friends but soon made a lot of new friends and learned how to manage on our own.

The first week we had lectures on subjects like robotics, electonics, programming, environmental studies, genetics, biotech and microcontrollers. The lectures were delivered by professors that had come from various universities around the world like MIT,UCLA, North Eastern university, university of Boston and such.In the evening we would have guest lectures from eminent people working successfully in their respective fields.Lectures were given on diverse fields ranging from technology to business to the environment.

The second week of the project we worked on group assignments each group consisting of 4 members. My group and I were a part of the teleoperation project. We basically made a robot that operated according to our hand gestures. For example when we move our had forward the robot would go forward and likewise. The robot also had a sensor in it so that it stopped whenever there was anything in front of it.The motivation for this project was to make robots that could be used to explore new places without having to go there physically like caves or underwater or to assess the condition of a place after a disaster.

We built the entire robot from scratch including programming the robot, the sensors, making the body, doing the wiring and soldering the components. It took us a total of seven days to built it; working from early morning to late evening.Every day, we faced new challenges with either the hardware or the software. It often frustrated us but nevertheless we found solutions and moved on.I think the best part was whenever we figured out the solution to a problem on our own and the results were successfully visible. We worked with various components like gyroscope,ESP32,Aurdionos,motors,sensors etc.Making the robot took a lot of hard work but it was worth it in the end.

The program was difficult but it taught me a lot of things even beyond academics and made me a better person.
